2011 Mataro Old Vine, Contra Costa
Expect huge spice cake and aged leather aromas upon the nose. Indulge in sweet black plums, blackberry and fresh blueberries all throughout the palate. With a velvety mouth feel and sustained finish, this is a perfect wine to snuggle up to the fireplace and get warm during winter.
2011 Zinfandel Old Vine, Mendocino
The cool weather of the 2011 growing season allowed us to produce a Zinfandel that beautifully expresses the rugged northern landscape of Mendocino. It still has all the hallmarks of a Trinitas Zinfandel with great fruit and warming barrel spices, but in 2011 they are also accompanied by pronounced varietal and site driven savory notes. The bouquet opens with ripe wild berries, dried herbs, white peppercorn, red licorice, and baking spices. On the palate, this wine is totally integrated at this point, and flavors of strawberry, boysenberry, spice, herbal tea, damp earth, and vanilla glide along to a refreshing finished marked by lively acidity. The cool year really shines through and adds a unique flavor profile to this fan favorite.
2012 Zinfandel Old Vine, Mendocino
This wine is singing! Rich aromatics of candy apple, baked cranberry, ripe raspberry, dark cherry, and cinnamon jump out of the glass. The robust palate has a strong core of dense fruit with balanced acidity that keeps the intense flavors of sweet cranberry, cherries jubilee, and baking spices energetic and fresh throughout. Ripe tannins have helped keep this wine very lively despite its age, and add gentle structure to the persistent finish. This is in a sweet spot!
2012 Merlot, Rutherford
Expressing notes of black cherry, all spice, cocoa powder and cedar on the nose, the palate confirms the mouthwatering and delicious flavor of big cherry, along with cocoa powder, and vanilla. The wine exhibits fine and delicate tannins, making it perfect for food pairings, or to enjoy by itself.
2013 Martin Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon, Family Collection, Coombsville
The 2013 Martin Cabernet Sauvignon opens with enveloping aromatics of red currant, cedar, graphite, tobacco, cherry, and plum. Despite its seven years of age, the palate if brimming with energy. Flavors of ripe red currant, gravel, cherry, cocoa powder and dried tea leaf build to a loud crescendo, followed by a persistent finish framed by lively acidity and dusty tannins. Patience certainly is a virtue, and this wine is one of its rewards.
2013 Revelation, Contra Costa
The 2013 Revelation is rich, the nose is juicy and smells like a basket of red fruit and fruit pie spices. Candied red apple covered in chocolate and caramel is a high note, followed by hints of blackberries, red licorice, and pomegranate. The Revelation is literally mouth coating, which contributes to the continually lingering cherry flavor of this wine.
2007 Amarone Classico, Family Collection, Valpolicella
Intense garnet red. Perfume of ripe fruits with a hint of small red berries blending into each other in a sweet vanilla flavored note, lightly spicy with nutmeg. Full bodied and warm on the palate, soft and perfectly balanced.
2007 Amarone Riserva, Family Collection, Valpolicella
Intense garnet red. Perfume of ripe fruits with a hint of small red berries blending into each other in a sweet vanilla flavored note, lightly spicy with nutmeg. The mouth feel is notably more viscous because of the additional aging and can sometimes have a hint of port although not too sweet. The finish is long, balanced, and beautiful.
