Every year our winemaker sets aside some of our favorite lots of old vine varietals and blends together a wine shrouded in “mystery”. While the varietals used in the blend change from year to year, we strive to recreate the same crowd-pleasing flavor profile with each new vintage. The aromas and palate showcase ripe raspberry, maraschino cherry, blackberry jam, and vanilla-tinged notes of oak. It’s as delicious as it sounds, and we hope that you agree it over delivers for its price!
2015 Mataro Old Vine, Contra Costa
Mataro (also known as Mouvedre) is grown in the Gonsalves’ vineyards in the eastern hills of Contra Costa and hand picked to hone in on mature and deeper flavor development on the vine. With vines dating back over 90 plus years, the mature vines produce low yields that are focused and concentrated in their flavors.

2017 Zinfandel Old Vine, Mendocino
The 2017 Mendocino Zinfandel dishes up intense and inviting aromas of ripe strawberry and vanilla wafer. The palate is remarkably rich, yet also fresh, with scrumptious ﬂavors of baked ﬁg, strawberry pie, and Chinese ﬁve spice, that are lifted by gentle acidity. This round and generous wine is all too easy to drink!

2013 Merlot, Rutherford
The 2013 Merlot’s nose starts with beautiful blueberry and sweet cedar notes. Hints of vanilla, cigar box, and chocolate round out the aroma. The mouthfeel of the Merlot is smooth from start to finish. This wine exhibits the classic Rutherford dust composition and texture. Flavors of cherry liqueur, vanilla, and dark chocolate dominate the palate.

Our inaugural release of Two Popes opens with powerful aromas of chocolate, nutmeg, ripe plum and sarsaparilla. The palate follows suit, with rich and concentrated flavors of ripe plum, blueberry, dark chocolate, vanilla, mocha, and pepper, that trail off into a very persistent finish marked by blackberry and graham cracker. Everything is lifted by fresh acidity and ripe tannins, that give the wine a charming and approachable spirit.
2015 Pelkan Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Francis, Knights Valley, Sonoma County, Family Collection
This behemoth opens with an abundance of ripe fruit aromas. Notes of blackberry and plum are melded together with clove and jasmine tea to make a captivating bouquet. The dark purple palate gushes with flavors of blackberry, elderberry, plum, cardamom, vanilla, and berry blossoms that glide into a persistent finish marked by notes of graham cracker. This is the most dense and juicy vintage we have made, and is Cabernet Franc at its most decadent! Just delicious!
2015 Father Mathew Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Yountville, Napa Valley, Family Collection
This rendition of the Father Mathew Cabernet Sauvignon displays the exuberant and rich character of both the 2015 Vintage and its Yountville vineyard site. Chocolate dipped cherries, ripe strawberry, and rhubarb pie waft from the glass. The palate opens with a silky texture that is accompanied by ripe cherry and plum that are framed by dark cocoa and loamy earth. It all trails into a persistent finish of strawberry, vanilla, and cedar, that is carried by the wines plush texture and incredibly ripe tannins. It’s magnificent.
2014 Pelkan Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Knights Valley, Sonoma County, Family Collection
The nose is velvety with rich notes of cinnamon, anise, molasses, and blackberry jam. There are also hints of clove and just a pinch of black pepper. The palate is equally as silky and opens with delicate notes of cherry and ripe raspberry. The wine grows on the palate showing its breadth and beautiful core which leads into a rich blackberry compote finish, complemented but the soft, fine tannin structure.
2014 Martin Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Coombsville, Napa Valley, Family Collection
Now this is a Cabernet Sauvignon that shows off the personality of its Coombsville vineyard site. It opens with aromas of black cherry, sweet cranberry, toasted barrel spices, pencil shavings and flint. Flavors of cherry, red plum, clove, graphite, and smoke glide across the palate in weightless fashion. As the finish goes on and on, the wine’s slightly grippy tannins are finally revealed. It’s a mesmerizing combination of rugged flavor and civilized structure. Drink up!
